Our assessments draw on manufacturer specifications, materials and warranty documentation, retailer published policies, league and venue information, and direct comparison across competing options. Where an editor has used a product first hand, the page says so explicitly. Where we have not, we do not imply otherwise.

Scores are editorial judgements on a ten point scale, applied only where we have enough documented information to justify them. A score reflects how an option performs against the criteria for its category, for the kind of reader this site is written for.
