Editorial policy
Our coverage is written for fans making a decision. This page explains where our information comes from, what we will and will not claim, and how we handle commercial relationships.
Editorial independence
Editorial decisions are made by the Fan Field Guide Editorial Team. No advertiser, affiliate partner, retailer, league or brand has any influence over what we cover, how we rank options, or the conclusions we publish. Partners do not review content before it goes live, and no payment can buy a recommendation, a ranking position or a score.
What our research is based on
- Manufacturer published specifications, materials and warranty documentation
- Retailer published policies for pricing, shipping, stock and returns
- League, conference, network and venue published information
- Category standards and published equipment rules where they exist
- Direct comparison of documented specifications across competing options
Claims we do not make
We do not describe products as tested, measured or used over a season unless an editor has actually done that work and the page says so explicitly. Where our assessment is based on documentation and comparison, we write it that way: we evaluated, our analysis considers, based on published specifications.
We do not publish invented prices, invented schedules, fabricated user ratings, review counts, awards or testimonials. Where pricing moves frequently we describe typical ranges and tell readers to confirm at the source.
Accuracy and updates
Broadcast rights, stadium policies, product lines and retailer terms change. Pages carry an update date, and we revisit commercial and viewing guides ahead of each season, plus whenever a reader or our own monitoring flags a change.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we fix the page and, where the error was material, note the change. Report an error through our contact page.
Affiliate relationships
Some links earn us a commission. Those links never change our recommendations, and every page carrying them displays a disclosure. See our affiliate disclosure and review methodology.
Use of AI tools
AI tools may assist with research organisation and drafting. Every published page is reviewed, fact-checked and edited by a human editor, who is responsible for its accuracy.
